Mafi began writing stories since childhood and continued his writing career by collaborating in the magazines “Kayhan… Bachaha” and “Bacheha…. Gul Agha”. In his teens, he turned to dramatic literature and won the Honorable Mention at the Ozra Festival for writing the semi-length screenplay “Khosob Yek Mah” (A Moon Eclipse). After that, he wrote the plays “A Rainy Night”, “Waiting for Death” and “Khodakashi”, the final performance of which caused him problems. These problems in 2004 led Mafi away from dramatic literature and closer to fiction. The book “Silence of Eyes” was published in 2006 and “My Desert” was published on the eve of the 2009 elections by “Nimrooz” Publishing. Then he entered the literature of war fiction and published real novels in a new space, with the names “Dastaan Isma’il” and “Sharif Sharif” in 2000 and “Alchemy of Madness” and “Rowayat Ek Mard” in 2009, through the efforts of “Sura Sabz” Publications. Mafi’s new look at the subject of war led him to choose a different form and address less read content in this field, which was manifested in “Rowayat Ek Mard” and culminated in “Sentences of Silence” which was published in 2009. Mafi’s return to his own intellectual world led him to write the story “Slaughter Island” in May 2009, which is currently being published by Nogam Publications, and the story “Vaziyat Mejlokh” which was published in Iran in May 2013. During these years, his poetry collection “A Plate of Slogans and a Salad of Connection”, which had been declared illegal by the Iranian Guidance, was also published in offset and made available to interested parties. Also, his story “Death of Birth” was declared unauthorized in 2008. Since late 2009, Amirreza Mafi has been writing plays again at the request of the Radio Drama Literature Office, this time in radio form, and has written and directed more than a hundred plays and several drama series for various radio networks. Also, the telefilm “After the Dust” by “MahmoudMoazami” based on his script “The Red Secret” was produced and broadcast by Iran’s Five Television Network. Throughout all these years, in addition to his work in the field of fiction and drama literature, Mafi has continuously continued his philosophical studies in the fields of postmodern literature and Kant’s philosophy, and in the field of religious studies, he has addressed new theological issues, which resulted in two articles and several notes.
