Masoud Shojaei Tabatabaei

Masoud Shojaei Tabatabaei is one of the prominent and leading figures in the field of cartooning in Iran and the world. He was born in Tehran in 1963 and completed his studies in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran. Then, by completing his master’s degree, he strengthened his skills in the field of graphics. He has a first-class degree in art. Tabatabaei has a brilliant record in the field of art management. He has worked as the editor of “Kayhan Karikatur”, “Mashreqiyeh”, “Iran Cartoon” and the director of “Iran Cartoon House” and has played an important role in the development and promotion of the art of cartooning in the country. Membership in the Asia-Pacific Animation and Comics Association (APACA) in Pennsylvania, USA is a testament to his international standing. He has served as a judge in many prestigious cartoon competitions around the world and is recognized as a well-known figure in the international cartoon community, having served as a judge in countries such as Turkey, Serbia, Cuba, China, Syria, Greece, and Brazil. His experience in organizing and curating cartoon exhibitions, including the Tehran Biennial Cartoon Competition and the Latin American Cartoon and Caricature Exhibition, demonstrates his high ability in managing artistic events. Tabatabaei’s works have won numerous awards in international competitions. These awards include first place in the 8th International Animal Cartoon Competition in Serbia and the Syrian Cartoon Competition. In addition, he has published five books of his cartoon works and illustrated more than 20 books
