Babak Khajehpasha

Babak Khajehpasha (born in 1981) is an Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor. His contributions to cinema and television include writing the screenplay for the film Dar Aghoosh-e Derakht (In the Embrace of the Tree), collaborating as an assistant director on Muhammad: The Messenger of God, and working on projects such as Qasr-e Shirin, Vaz’iyat-e Mehdi (The Situation of Mehdi), and Aabi Roosh, among others. At the 41st Fajr Film Festival, he won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Screenplay for In the Embrace of the Tree and received an Honorary Diploma for Best Directing of a Debut Film for the same work. Khajehpasha’s filmography reflects his versatility across screenwriting, directing, and acting, with a focus on narratives that intertwine cultural depth and cinematic innovation.
