Ajamu Baraka is an African American activist with more than 53 years of experience in human rights, anti-racism, and social justice. He is recognized as a leading figure in the anti-racism, anti-war, and justice movements in the United States. Baraka has a military background and a degree in political science, and he has also served as a university professor.

Baraka is the founder and chair of the Black Alliance for Peace, a coalition that critiques the U.S.’s war-mongering and exploitative policies both at home and abroad. He recently established the International Coalition to Stop the Genocide in Gaza to support South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice. As the Green Party’s vice presidential candidate in 2016, Baraka introduced the discourse of resistance against imperialism and racial capitalism into the official U.S. election dialogue.He has consistently advocated for the fight against America’s oppressive and discriminatory structures, promoting independent and critical views on social and political issues.
