Al-Kawthar Universal Network officially started its activity in February 2006, at the same time as Eid Ghadir Khumm.
In 1980, the Arabic TV section was launched on radio and television with an hour and a half of broadcast time, and as its programs gradually expanded, the Islamic Republic of Iran felt the need to establish a network in order to spread the word of the Islamic Revolution and cover the events of the Arab world. This Arabic network would go on to be called “Al-Kawthar” in 2006 with 14 hours of daily broadcasting, and in 2014, with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, it was broadcasting 24 hours a day.
As an educational network of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), Al-Kawthar has the proper promotion of the teachings of the Hadith of the thaqalayn based on the principles of the unity of the Islamic Ummah on its agenda. Al-Kawthar Network presents various programs on religious, cultural, political, economic, and social issues. It introduces the pure Islam of Muhammad (pbuh) to its viewers and reflects the latest events in the world by having different news sections and a network of diverse reporters in different countries and cities.
The variety of programming on the Al-Kawthar network in various religious, social, political, news, children and teenagers, movies, and TV shows has made the audience from the Arab world, especially Muslims and Shiites with different tastes, able to benefit from Al-Kawthar programs.
The series “Jabir ibn Hayyan,” “Don’t cry my land,” and “Soil and Love,” and movies “Foreigners,” “Silence,” “Guantanamo Prison”, “Escape from Kufa”, “Rebirth”, “Mouse” , “Whirlpool” and TV documentaries such as “Persians of Zanzibar”, “Anahid” and “Shams al-Nasr” are among the outstanding productions of the “Al-Kawthar” network. In addition to this, the translation of famous Iranian works into Arabic, such as the translation of Imam Ali (a.s.) and Youssef the Prophet (a.s.) tv shows, has been one of the activities of Al-Kowsar network in introducing the famous Iranian works to the Arab world.
The Al-Kowsar network’s Arabic and Persian websites inform their viewers of the latest news and events in the region, especially intellectual and fundamental developments.
Also, the activity of Al-Kawthar Universal Network on social media sites such as Instagram and Facebook has attracted many followers.
