British politician: Support for Israel in the West has reversed

The 2nd Sobh International Media Festival, with Mohsen Yazdi as the festival director, will be held in three sections: “Main,” “IRIB World Service,” and “Palestinian Special.” The festival is dedicated to artists and media activists both inside and outside of Iran. It consists of three main categories: TV programs, radio, and new media. Chris Williamson, the host of “Palestine Declassified” on PressTV and a former member of the British Parliament, expressed his familiarity with Iranian media activity, stating that PressTV provides a valuable platform for disseminating the voice of the Palestinian people to Western society.

Williamson also criticized the bias of the British mainstream media, which he believes is influenced by the Zionist lobby. In contrast, he praised alternative platforms like PressTV for providing a valuable platform to correct the inaccuracies of the British media landscape. He believes that Iran is an inspiration for liberation struggles around the world due to its rejection of Western imperialism, despite facing extensive Western sanctions.

Regarding the distorted representation of Iran by Western media, Williamson mentioned that independent media sometimes reveals the reality of life in Iran, which differs from the image portrayed by the Western media. He highlighted the growing trend of people in Western countries seeking alternative media platforms, partly due to the ongoing situation in Gaza.

Williamson also discussed the increasing global support for Palestine compared to previous decades, which gives hope for the Palestinian cause. He emphasized the importance of countering Western propaganda and conveying the right message to the world through platforms like PressTV and social networks.

He praised the idea of holding international media conferences in Iran as an antidote to the activity of Western media. He believes these conferences are crucial for gathering and sharing ideas, as well as providing a clear and accurate narrative for the general public. Williamson also mentioned the growth of independent media platforms and the potential for conferences like “Sobh” to strengthen and expand alternative media while putting pressure on the mainstream media to change their ways.

The 2nd Sobh International Media Festival, with Mohsen Yazdi as the festival director, will be held from May 19–21 in three sections: “Main,” “IRIB World Service,” and “Palestine Special.”
