Accepting submissions in 3 sections
The second international media festival “Sobh” under Mohsen Yazdi’s direction will be held in 3 sections and the call for submissions has been published.
According to the festival’s public relations report, the call for the second “Sobh” international media festival was published. This festival will be held under the direction of Mohsen Yazdi in 3 sections: “Main”, “IRIB World Service” and “Palestine Special” and the deadline for registration and submission of works will be April 8, 2024.
A- The Main section
In the Main section of the festival, all artists from both inside and outside Iran can submit their works.
In this section, visual and audio works can be submitted in the Television, Radio or New Media group respectively.
Television programs in the Main section must have English subtitles.
The “Sobh” festival centers around “Media and the New World Order,” delving into the significance of local and regional identities, spiritualism, cultural authority, as well as the influence of family origins. Moreover, it explores the idea that discourse can give rise to resistance and opposition against oppressive powers.
B- IRIB World Service section
Only IRIB World Service productions can be submitted in this section. This section has three categories: Television, Radio and New Media, along with their respective subcategories.
There are no language or subtitle restrictions in this section; entries with any language and subtitles can be submitted.
C- The Palestine special section
The Palestine special section, which had previously been a side event of the festival, was added to the festival’s main sections in response to the events that unfolded in the region and following the October 7 Al-Aqsa Storm operation.
All Participants in and out of Iran are welcome to submit their works about Palestine in the categories of “Feature Film”, “TV Series”, “Motion graphics and short animation”, “TV news report”, “News coverage”, “TV program”, ” Vlog and Music Video”, “Documentary”, “Short film”, Citizen Journalism (Gaza journalist martyrs award), “Illustration”, “Podcast” and “Feature story (Essay, Article, Research report)”.
This international event ends its run at the end of May with the holding of specialized workshops and the closing ceremony and celebrating the winners of each section. The poster, brochure and teaser of the call for this festival, whose press conference was held previously, has been published.
